The Drake Burning Bridges trend, explained

Why half your feed is standing in a chandelier-lit room with a silver cup, shading their eyes.

The song

"Burning Bridges" is reportedly a track on Drake's album Iceman, released in May 2026. Fans widely read it as a diss aimed at A$AP Rocky, which Drake has not confirmed. It charted in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The video and the room

The music video's back half is a private dinner that turns into a party: dark wood panelling, crystal chandeliers, a close crowd raising glasses, warm amber light and a handheld camera weaving through the room. Fan reports place the shoot in a private dining room at a Toronto restaurant; we have not confirmed this. Drake holds a silver cup through most of it, waves at the lens, points at guests, and near the end raises a flat hand above his eyes and slowly turns his head like he is looking for someone.

The gesture goes viral first

Before any AI was involved, the hand-over-eyes move became a meme on its own. Reportedly, during the 2026 World Cup in Toronto, Drake did it on the stadium screen after a Cristiano Ronaldo goal, and Ronaldo did it back a few days later. From there it spread as a phone-filmed TikTok trend: friends at a party, the sound playing, everyone shading their eyes on the key line.

Then the AI versions

In early October 2026 creators began using AI video tools, first Higgsfield's Genjutsu character-swap mode, to put themselves into the actual party scene instead of filming their own. The format spread fast because it is funny with almost anyone in the lead: Shrek, The Office characters, NFL players, grandmas, dogs. Google searches for "burning bridges ai video" went from nothing in late September to a sharp climb from 6 October, and one-photo template sites appeared within days.
